Memorial Services

We provide full memorial headstone services including new memorial headstones, name addition and refurbishment to existing memorials.

Any additional lettering required will match your existing inscription regardless of the original method. Memorials with lettering in a very poor condition can be re-faced and re-cut. All methods of lettering can be produced including cut and gild, cut and lead, cut and enamel and raised lead.

It is common to cherish a favourite picture as a way to remember a loved one’s life. Whitby’s Memorials can reproduce almost any design you wish according to the stone you choose to produce a truly unique memorial. We can even create a special personalised etching from a photograph. Etchings are an appropriate choice for decorating polished stone memorials found in cemeteries.

The vast majority of memorials can be cleaned and renovated to a very high standard. If you require any work on your memorial please contact us and we will provide you with a free no obligation quote. Renovation of your memorial is undertaken at our workshop and may include cleaning and re-dowelling. We will then re-fix the memorial back in the cemetery to meet with all the Health and safety and NAMM standards. A new foundation and ground anchor is fitted where necessary.

Please be aware, however, that in some very rare cases renovation may not be possible due to the very poor condition of the material.

We will carefully clean and restore the surface of the gravestone and replace lettering and engravings. We are experienced in renovating gravestones and great care will be taken while the memorial is being restored. Inspection must be undertaken to see what is required, once this has been done, and only then can a quote be given.
